Vehicular Homicide Unit

The Traffic Homicide Unit is comprised of sworn officers who have received specialized training in Traffic Homicide Investigations, Crash Reconstruction with specialties of Pedestrian, Motorcycle and Commercial vehicle crashes.

 

Our Traffic Homicide Investigators respond to any crash scene that results in death and/or serious bodily injury. Using advanced techniques and equipment to include Unmanned Aerial System, Site Scanners, Laser Total Surveying Stations, Crash Data Retrieval systems and measurement systems along with different types of advanced computer aided diagraming and reconstruction software with specialized investigative techniques the Traffic Homicide Unit works to recreate and diagram these crashes and uses this information to aide in the prosecution of cases such as:

• Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Manslaughter

• Vehicular Homicide 

• Vehicular Manslaughter 

• Leaving the Scene of a Crash Involving Death / Serious Bodily Injury
